I know I have said it at least 1,000 times, but I absolutely LOVE engagement sessions! And getting to spend time with Elizabeth + Andrew was so good for my soul!
I met up with this sweet couple at The Natchez Trace Overlook and we decided to drive up the Natchez Trace to look for the perfect spots for their session. The grass was carpeted in tiny wildflowers, redbuds in bloom, and we were greeted by a beautiful butterfly!
When I asked how they met, Elizabeth shared “Andrew and I met through mutual friends at Mississippi State, and after a year or so, Andrew took me to his fraternity formal in Chattanooga, Tennessee. That was one of the most fun weekends of my life! We realized how much we enjoyed being around each other and began dating shortly after.”
And when asked how he proposed, she said “Andrew told me that his family was having their Christmas dinner on the weekend of December 7th because that was the only time that everyone could get together. I believed him because that makes sense! We had done his family’s Thanksgiving dinner the weekend before at the same place — his grandparents’ house in Eupora, Mississippi. On that Saturday, Andrew and his dad went to Eupora early to set up “Christmas” while I spent the day with his mom and sister shopping around Tupelo, where Andrew is from. That afternoon, we were going to meet up with Andrew and his dad at his grandparents’ house. When we got there, Andrew’s dad told me to go look in the back because Andrew left me something. I thought that was odd, I still had absolutely no clue about what was going on. I saw a note with my name on it and a change of clothes, and then I knew what was happening. I turned around and saw my sister standing there to help me get ready! I was so excited that I could hardly wait until 4:00, which is the time that Andrew told me in the note to meet him in the driveway. 4:00 came, and I met him in the driveway and we walked down to the beautiful dock overlooking the lake behind his grandparents’ house. After talking for a bit, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said yes, and then we went back up to the house where both of our family met us to celebrate! It got even sweeter when Andrew took me outside to surprise me with Allen of our friends from college who had traveled to Eupora to celebrate with us! It was more perfect that I could have ever imagined!”
