Last month I had the honor of being present to photograph a gathering of pastors at Table 100 to discuss REVIVAL in Mississippi. Wow!! I love seeing the Lord at work!!
As a missionary, it was encouraging to see the PASSION these men & women have for seeing the Kingdom advance in my home city and state! And as a photographer, it was an honor to be there to capture the moment and tell the story.
My favorite moment was when the legendary Dr. Perkins spoke passionately saying, “this is not about race reconciliation. This about reconciling people to a Holy God! And when people are reconciled to a Holy God, race doesn’t matter.” He shared this truth with passion and the emotion was felt by all.
This meeting was the early phase of planning for a HUGE event to be held on April 27, 2019 at Veterans’ Memorial Stadium in downtown Jackson! It is the weekend after Easter. What an amazing, God-ordained time to share the Gospel and see the Kingdom advance in Mississippi!!
The next big event in the planning phase is the Pastor’s Summit on Thursday, October 4. For more information on the PulseMS movement and for pastors and church/ministry leaders to register to attend the Pastor’ Summit, please visit pulsemovement.com/pulsems
Meet the Perry Family, my dear friends and the heart behind Bursting Barns Ministries in Lynnville, TN. A couple of weeks ago we had the honor of being guests at Bursting Barns for Jill Perry’s Jubilee Birthday Celebration & Ministry Launch!! And come to find out, we were their very first missionary guests!!
Eddy and Jill Perry were in Missionary Nurture Ministry way before they had a name for it. In fact, the vision for this ministry grew from the many missionaries who stayed in their home over the years.
I first connected with the Perry family while I was attending the Iris Harvest School of Missions in Mozambique, Africa in the summer of 2011. Eddy & Jill’s daughter Brooke, then only 17, was part of a mission team from We Will Go Ministries. Holy Spirit did so much in Brooke and I during that week in the dirt, and our hearts are forever knit together! During the fall of that same year, Brooke traveled from her home in Franklin, TN to We Will Go to visit and serve with us in Jackson, and then she returned with her family and church family for a spring break mission trip! This spring break trip is when I met Jill, the two younger Perry sons Brent & Blake as well as several from The Nest Church family. Little did I know, this church family would sew spiritual and financial seeds into my heart, vision, and ministry for years to come!
Over the years I have had many opportunities to stay in the Perry home, which we loving called the Perry B&B! This family does hospitality like nobody else! I have so many stories I could share, and many will appear on this blog in the future as I share my own Jesus story… but as I write this blog post about Eddy & Jill and Bursting Barns Ministries, the first thing that comes to my mind is the word FAITHFUL. What started as kind of a joke about the Perry B&B, became a vision. The vision grew through prayer and prophecy. And now, the vision has become a reality! Check out the full story on the Bursting Barns Blog!
Eddy & Jill, we love y’all so much! We believe your ministry of missionary nurture is VITAL to advancing the Kingdom!! We are so thankful for you and your example of faithfulness to keep pressing forward in order to see all that God has promises come into existence!! Praying for ABUNDANT PROVISION for you ministry so you can continue to nurture, refresh and equip missionaries who desperately need it!
Rob Hamilton. Mighty man of God. Warrior for the Kingdom.
I first met Rob and his family on Thanksgiving Day 2011. They came to We Will Go Ministries to serve as volunteers and were wrecked by Holy Spirit as they served food and sat with our homeless neighbors. They began coming regularly, helping with different projects as we were restoring several former crack houses, transforming them into beautiful missionary homes. As they worked on our future homes, Holy Spirit continued to work in their hearts.
As the months went by, it was Rob and his sister Ellie who first began to speak about their growing desire to become We Will Go missionaries and live on the ministry base in downtown Jackson. The faith of these kids was beautiful to watch as they loved our neighbors and worked just as hard as us adults on the endless projects. In the fall of 2012, a year after their first visit to We Will Go, the Hamilton family became my next door neighbors! We live together in community for a year before I moved overseas and truly became family.
Rob is now a rising senior at Hartfiled Academy where he is a key member of the varsity basketball team.
Rob, I have been praying for you as I have edited your photos. The word the Lord keeps bringing to my mind is from Jeremiah 1
4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you; I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
6 Then said I:
“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
7 But the Lord said to me:
“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:
“Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. 10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”
Abigail: father rejoiced or father’s joy. Gives joy. The intelligent, beautiful Abigail was King David’s third wife, described as “good in discretion and beautiful in form.”
Grace: the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
Abby Wilkerson, the name your parents gave you was a prophetic word of the beautiful, intelligent, blessing of a young lady you are today!
I first met Abby in the spring of 2011. I was working with her dad Kelly at Morgan White Group and our department decided to have a BBQ to meet everyone’s families. I was also living at We Will Go Ministries where she served with her mom Amy, sister Katie, and their homeschool co-op group CHEC. Shortly after I moved overseas, her family sold their home and moved on base to serve full time with We Will Go. Over the years I have had the honor of watching Abby grown into a beautiful, talented young woman with a BIG heart for Jesus and love for His people.
Abby not only smart, but a hard worker! While still in high school, she has been dual enrolled at Holmes Community College. She will continue her education at the same community college this fall, taking full advantage of scholarships offered. She then plans to transfer to Mississippi State University, her parent’s alma mater.
Abby and I had so much fun at her senior portrait session at the Town of Livingston! This girl is so fun to laugh with and I was so pleased to capture her joy and laughter in the images from her session! I love to pray over my clients as I edit their photos, and I can feel the Lord’s excitement over Abby’s future! Abigail Grace – keep your eyes on Jesus and hold His hand tightly as you take each step. Your Heavenly Father delights in you, beautiful girl! And He has amazing plans for you!!
With this beautiful face featured on my website and shared so much this last week on both my Facebook and Instagram, I thought I should take a minute to introduce you to my friend Jade now that I have my blog up.
I first met Jade and her family several years ago while I was a missionary at We Will Go Ministries in downtown Jackson, MS. Jeff & Star Lott brought their kids to serve along side us as we fed the hungry and loved the homeless in one of the hardest parts of our city. I remember so clearly a very special service where our friend David Waggner prophesied powerfully over them about a kid’s ministry they would start. I am sure that if I dug through old voice recordings I would find that service and his exact words, but what I will never forget is how powerfully Holy Spirit spoke life into a dream that Jeff and Star had already been praying into! Jeff & Star were quick with their obedience and soon launched City Lights Ministries! Lee and I have both had the honor to minister at City Lights many times over the years, sharing stories from all our missionary journeys.
Jade was just a kid when I moved overseas. She was cute as a button, full of confidence, and fierce on skates! I was so excited when we enrolled my bonus daughter Annslea at Hartfield Academy last year, ran into the Lott family at orientation and found out that Annslea and Jade would be in eighth grade together!! I know without a doubt that when Annslea spends time with Jade’s family that they are speaking TRUTH into her life, and I hope trust that we are doing the same when Jade comes to stay with us.
One of my favorite things about photography is capturing natural beauty, especially in young teenage girls. Social media and Hollywood give them a very unrealistic image to strive for, and I want to call out the beauty in each one of them! I want them to see that they are beautifully and wonderfully made in the image of God! That He knit them together in their mother’s womb, and that he has good plans for them!! Will you join with me in affirming not only Jade, but all the young girls in our lives, that they are beautiful, they are worthy of pure and innocent love, they are delighted in by their Heavenly Father, and He has amazing plans for them!!
In late 2013 I had the honor of meeting the Schauers Family shortly after moving to the Mediterranean Region. They had moved to the country just a few months before me, and their hearts for hospitality welcomed this single girl far from home into their lives and treated me like family.
During the year that we lived in the same city, we took language lessons together, enjoyed many Friday night Game Nights at their home with other Americans living in the same city, prayed together, cried together, and supported one another through heart break and disappointment. They became my family and I will forever be thankful for the year we spent together.
In December of 2014 they moved to another city and I moved into their house about a week before I returned to Mississippi to marry Lee. I miss my dear friends and hope one day we will be able to visit them in their new home city where I will be able to capture new photos not only of their family, but of our kids playing together!
Our location for this shoot was an olive grove just a short hike in the hills (or mountains to this Mississippi girl!) from our neighborhood. It was a cool December day between Christmas and New Years. We timed our photo shoot perfectly to get the soft dreamy light as the sun lowered towards the horizon. Oh how I love to shoot during golden hour!
Even all these years later, this is still one of my favorite photo shoots and I just couldn’t help but share it!
Oh how sweet it was to meet up with Jamie + Lia at Highland Village for a mini-session!
Jamie and I got to know each other when we shared a house together TWICE at We Will Go Ministries in Jackson, MS. In spring of 2011 Jamie moved to We Will Go to serve as a missionary and moved into the Peace House with me for a few months before I went to Harvest School of Missions in Mozambique, Africa. I remember loving our neighbors together on the southern-style front porch of our house, spending so much time sitting in the rocking chairs and sharing the love of Jesus with the homeless and hungry who would knock on our door at all hours of the day and night.
A year later we had the privilege of living together again in Fire House just a few blocks over. Jamie was my last housemate in America before moving overseas to the Mediterranean Region! Looking back I can see how the Lord used us as iron that sharpens iron to grow and refine us both for what He knew was in our futures.
While living at We Will Go, Jamie bought a house to restore just a few blocks away. She has continued to live out the Great Commandment of loving her neighbor as herself from her Mid-Town home where she lives with her beautiful baby girl Ophelia. If you have something to give, Jamie knows who is in need. Jesus has used her gift of networking to advance His kingdom by caring for the modern day widows and orphans in her neighborhood.
Thank you Jamie for all you do! Thank you for loving people well with the love of Christ! And thank you for the honor of capturing these images of you and your sweet Lia.
Meet the Sayles Family… Tim, Maegan, Tim Jr and Titus… the Kingdom Family behind the The Walk By Faith Movement!
I first met Maegan in 2012 when she began living at We Will Go Ministries as a missionary. She quickly became my Kingdom Sister. Maegan is a POWERFUL woman of God who hears clearly from the Lord and is obedient no matter what. I have learned so much from her over the years.
In 2013 the Holy Spirit began to speak to her about her childhood home in West Jackson and seeing the Kingdom come on Houston Avenue as it is in Heaven! Her parents still owned the house where Maegan remembers praying with her dad to repent of her sins and follow Jesus while sitting in her childhood bedroom. As an adult and missionary, the Lord began to speak to Maegan about the INHERITANCE He had for her on Houston Avenue! I had the honor of being with Maegan for those first steps of obedience as she began prayer walking the street around this special house that summer. In fall of 2013 Tim began to volunteer with We Will Go Ministries. He and Maegan both shared a passion for Jesus, prayer walking, and advancing the Kingdom. What started as a brother and sister in Christ ministering together on the streets of Jackson, Holy Spirit grew into a POWERFUL KINGDOM COUPLE! Tim & Maegan were married in September 2014 and soon after moved into the restored INHERITANCE HOUSE on Houston Avenue. In years since, the Lord has grown both their family and ministry to include two beautiful sons, a church in the yard beside their home, a clothing shop for neighbors to come and receive what they need, countless spiritual children, and a growing farm based on Biblical principals.
