Detail Rich Disney Inspired Wedding | Mr and Mrs Kelly

Disney Inspired Wedding at Old WaverlyVictoria + Drew’s detail rich Disney inspired wedding at Old Waverly Golf Club and the Chapel of Memories was an absolute joy to capture! I fell in love with this couple from our first FaceTime conversation. We talked about their love story and upcoming wedding. We also talked about their hearts for Jesus. When I met Victoria and Drew for the first time in person at their engagement session, I knew this was the beginning of a friendship that will last far past their wedding day!

It Is All In The Details

Victoria and Drew both give special attention to detail. It was no surprise that every detail of their wedding day was well thought out and carefully designed. From rings, to invitations, flowers to bridesmaids dresses, every detail blended elegance and fairytale. Drew and Victoria were truly a prince and princess as their family and friends celebrated their love and new life together.

Getting Ready

An atmosphere of JOY filled Old Waverly as Bridesmaids and Groomsmen assisted Victoria and Drew in getting ready. The sound of laughter rang through the rooms and halls of this grand country club. Excitement was palpable as excitement grew with each moment. Putting on a suit jacket, pinning on a boutonniere, groomsmen playing chess enjoying fellowship together. The squeals of the bridesmaids as they turn to see Victoria in her wedding gown.

Victoria and Drew chose to have the private moment of a first look to not only see one another for the first time, but also to exchange gifts and letters. Victoria’s gift to Drew was an engraved pocket watch and a journal where she began writing out her prayers for her future husband long before they met. Drew’s letter brought tears of joy to Victoria’s eyes, and the pearl bracelet made her radiant smile only brighter!

The Ceremony

Jesus was truly the center of every detail of Victoria and Drew’s wedding ceremony at The Chapel of Memories on campus at Mississippi State University. The presence of the Lord was felt by all as the name of Jesus was lifted high, Victoria and Drew were presented with a family Bible, scripture was spoken over this couple, and they each vowed to be faithful to this covenant of marriage for the rest of their lives.

The Fairytale Continues

We returned to Old Waverly for Victoria and Drew’s Disney meets Biltmore inspired reception.  Whimsey and elegance collided at this detail rich reception! Every table showcased a different Disney character. There were small touches of Disney everywhere! The atmosphere of JOY continued as a meal was shared and dancing began. Everything seemed theatrical as many of Victoria’s fellow former Disney cast members danced to well known songs! It was truly a fantasy affair!

A Wedding at The Vault Venue | Mr and Mrs Rylander

Rebecca and Adam’s classic southern wedding at The Vault Venue turned out simply perfect.

Prayers Answered

The morning began with lots of rain and a forecast of thunderstorms throughout the day. The radar did not look promising. I packed my clear umbrellas and all my rain gear, but was steadily praying and commanding peace to the storm and for the sun to come out at least for our portrait time. Papa God is SO GOOD and He answered our prayers by delivering the most beautiful weather we could have possibly asked for!

First Look

Rebecca and Adam wanted to have their private first look in the balcony area of The Vault Venue. I absolute love how the images turned out!

Rock Solid Foundation

Rebecca and Adam’s relationship began at church. Both of their families are involved at Hope Fellowship, and Jesus is truly the foundation of their relationship. Their love of Christ was evident in every conversation and every detail of the day.

I arrived at the venue extra early to plan inside portrait locations for “worst case scenario,” but I am so thankful that we did not have to use my “plan B”! As the bride was still getting ready, the clouds parted. The rain stopped and the sun began to shine!

Rebecca and Adam’s bridal party was full of the most fun loving, joyful group of friends anyone could ask for! We had so much fun during our portrait time together in the beautiful sunshine!

During Rebecca and Adam’s wedding ceremony, the Gospel was preached and Jesus’ name was lifted high! Prayer and worship were the center of the ceremony, and Holy Spirit presence was so strong! I have to admit, there were tears flowing behind my camera as I entered into worship along with them.

During the reception Rebecca and Adam were willing to sneak out for husband and wife sunset portraits! I just love “golden hour” glow!!

Engagement Session at McClain Lodge | MK + Spencer

Engagement Session at McClain Lodge

MK + Spencer’s engagement session at McClain Lodge was such a dream to capture!

How they met…

MK and Spencer first met in 10th grade driver’s ed class at Northwest Rankin High School. What started out as a friendship developed into more over time. They have even endured a long distance relationship as MK has been at Ole Miss and Spencer here working in the Jackson area.

How he popped the question…

When I asked MK how Spencer proposed, she said “We went to the mountains for my 21st birthday with my roommate and her fiancé! On that Saturday, we went out and walked around Gatlinburg. We finally got back to our cabin, and Spencer said that he had a headache and needed me to go to the store with him. Even though I didn’t want to, I went anyway. While we were gone, Bailey and Perry decorated the cabin with flower petals, candles, and pictures of us. When we got back, Spencer dropped on one knee and gave a mini speech!”

My prayer for you…

MK and Spencer, I have prayed for you and your relationship as I have edited the images from your engagement session. The verse the Lord keep bringing to mind is Ecclesiastes 4:12 which says, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” I am praying that over this engagement season, the Lord will strengthen your relationship with Himself and one another. I pray that you will be the chord of three strands that is not quickly broken. I pray that you will face both good and trying times in unity and peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray that the JOY of the Lord will be your strength as you learn to laugh at the plans of the enemy!!

I enjoyed every moment of MK and Spencer’s engagement session at McClain Lodge and can’t wait to capture their wedding at this beautiful venue in April!

Sarah + Nathan | Downtown Jackson Engagement Session

Mississippi Engagement Session

Sarah and Nathan’s downtown Jackson engagement session was absolute perfection! This fun-loving couple was full of joy and laughter as we enjoyed our time together at the Mississippi Museum of Art Garden!

When Sarah and Nathan showed up for a Hinds Community College soccer social with both the girl’s and guy’s teams, little did they know they would be meeting their future spouse! A few years later after Sarah graduated from nursing school, they went on a cruise with Nathan’s family. On the front deck of the cruise ship Nathan told Sarah he wanted to spend the rest of his life making her the happiest girl in the world, and he presented her with this beautiful diamond ring. She said yes and I am so excited to be there to capture their September wedding at the Ice House Venue!

This Downtown Jackson Engagement Session is one you will definitely want to see!

Mississippi Engagement Ring

Sarah and Nathan, as I have edited your images I have prayed over both of you, your season of engagement, and your marriage. The verse the Lord continues to bring to my mind for you is Jeremiah 29:11 which says “‘For I know the plans I have for you’ says the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'” I know you have so many questions about your future. So many “what ifs” and “how longs,” but all you have to do is take one step at a time and trust Him to show you whats next.

I pray that these next few months will be a sweet time of enjoying planning the final details of your wedding and preparing for a lifetime together! Focus on Him and allow Him to draw you closer together and deeper into your relationship with Him and one another. Make Him the foundation of your relationship, and you will build on a solid rock foundation!

Rachel + Samuel | Engagement

Mississippi Engagement

Two students at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. A bus ride to orientation at the Jackson Free Clinic. Little did they know Jesus’ plans when they “happened” to sit beside one another. The ride that normally takes five minutes lasted an hour, and Rachel and Samuel talked the whole time. What began as a friendship slowly blossomed into more as they endured the rigorous schedule of first year. Papa God has been directing each of their paths to intersect at this time, and He has directed the converging into a single new path they are are beginning to walk together. Hand-in-hand with both one another and their Savior.

The day Samuel proposed seemed like a normal Sunday. Church together followed by lunch. During lunch there was a call from Samuel’s mom asking them to come to his sister’s art exhibit at the Fairview Inn. When they arrived, Samuel led Rachel to the garden and handed her an envelope addressed to his future wife. Rachel opened the envelope to find it empty, but then noticed a small burlap canvas on the ground nearby with words written on it. Samuel had written the parts of the letter out on different canvases and placed them throughout the garden. They walked through the garden and Rachel read each letter out loud. The last part of the letter was in the gazebo with roses. The letter ended with 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” Rachel was shocked. This letter was written over three years ago… but even then the Lord knew that their pastor would preach a sermon on this verse, and only this verse, on this day. The day that Rachel would say “yes” to Samuel’s question, “Will you marry me?”

I so enjoyed getting to know Rachel and Samuel during their recent engagement session at The Town of Livingston! Not only can you see the love these two have for one another, but their hearts for Jesus shine clearly to everyone the meet. I am so excited for the plans God has for Rachel and Samuel, and I am honored to capture their love story as they become one in June!

Taeler Williams | Senior Portraits

Mississippi Senior

Taeler Williams may call herself “short and sarcastic”, but I call her full of fun, laughter and JOY of the Lord! I have had the pleasure of getting to know Taeler and her family through our church Crossroads of Life in Byram, MS. And we became even closer to Taeler as she spent many hours in the car with us during our spring break mission trip to YWAM Nashville! Seriously, with so many little kids needing potty breaks on our family mission trip, it took no less than 10 hours to complete our 6 hour drive haha! To say it was a lesson in patience is an understatement, and this spirited young lady created a Certificate of Completion in the Course of Patience for my husband who kept declaring that he was going to learn patience this time so God would move on to the next lesson haha! In all seriousness, this girl has reminded me that loud laughter really is the best medicine!

Taeler, Papa God has such amazing plans for you! He has gifted you with a voice to proclaim His Gospel message to all He puts in your path! He will use your gift of laughter to reach many for His Kingdom! He has given you this gift to share, and you share it well!

As you step into this new season, I pray specifically for abundant grace. Grace for each place as He moves you. Grace for the transition. Grace as you wait on Him. Grace as you allow Him to work in you and through you.

Taeler, you are a young woman full of God’s GRACE and POWER! You will perform great WONDERS and SIGNS among the people! I can feel His excitement over all He has planned for you!! Keep you eyes on Him. Walk with Him hand-in-hand. Experience His delight in you.

Hayley + Ethan | Engagement Session

Mississippi Engagement

This past Saturday I met Hayley and Ethan at the Town of Livingston for their engagement session. I was quickly reminded why I love engagement sessions so much, and why they are such an essential part of my client experience! I was especially thankful when Hayley and Ethan agreed to travel from their college towns for a weekend in Mississippi for their engagement session with me! They are both in their final semesters of school… Hayley in Columbia, SC and Ethan outside of Atlanta, GA.

Hayley and Ethan met at Impact 360, a gap year Christian leadership program. After completing the one year program, their relationship has developed long distance as they have attended different universities. God’s plan for their relationship has not been deterred by the distance. This past fall, Ethan planned an epic mountain top proposal in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee! Hayley recalled Ethan rushing to the top as she wanted to stop to look at wildflowers and take in the sunset. Little did she know he had a big question to ask her once they reached the top! Hayley said that eventually they made it to the top where he stopped, got down on one knee, and asked the big question. “I screamed with joy and it was the most dreamy moment of my life for sure. His friends were hiding to take pictures. It was so beautiful and could not have been more perfect.”

But that’s not all. Afterwards he surprised her again. All their friends were in a cabin nearby ready to celebrate with them!

Throughout Hayley and Ethan’s engagement session we shared our hearts for Jesus. For me, the biggest highlight of what was a perfect session was when Ethan asked me to pray for them before we left. This missionary’s heart came even more alive in that moment, and it felt like Holy Spirit took over my mouth as His heart for this couple began to pour out through me. I can feel His excitement over the plans he has for Hayley and Ethan! His plans to advance His Kingdom through this couple in submission to Him, laying down their lives and taking up His cross.

It is such an honor to be able to capture this love story as He is writing it. I can’t wait to see Him glorified as these two become one in May!

Sydney Bearden | Senior Portraits

Mississippi Senior Girl

I had the best time with Sydney last Friday at the Town of Livingston for her Senior Portrait Session!

Sydney originally reached out to me back in January for her senior portrait sessions, and I am so thankful that we had such beautiful spring weather for her session on Friday! Sydney found me through her friend Hannah who is also a Meridith Lee Senior from earlier in the year!

Capturing Sydney with her beautiful blue eyes and radiant smile was such a joy and highlight to my week! I have enjoyed editing these images and thinking about our time together!

Sydney, I have prayed for you as I edit your images, and the verse that keeps coming to mind is Jeremiah 29:11 –

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I pray that the Lord with give you abundant JOY and GRACE for this season of transition! I pray for PEACE that surpasses all understanding as you finish well your senior year and begin to step into a new season with more independence! Keep your eyes on Jesus, allow Him to guide your steps. He will lead you in triumphant processions!

Victoria and Drew | A Starkville, MS Engagement Session

Starkville Mississippi Engagement

When Victoria and Drew each signed up for Mississippi State University RUF’s Dating Game, they were excited to meet new people. Neither of them expected to meet their future spouse, but that is exactly what happened! We walked down memory lane and relived their love story as we captured Victoria and Drew’s engagement session at the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge near Starkville, MS.

engagement, Starkville, Refuge, Mississippi State University

Victoria reminisced fondly, “It was this spot on our first date where we talked about our favorite places to travel, and he brought it home by telling me his favorite places in Starkville. I had only been at MSU one semester, so I hadn’t been to many of the places he mentioned, but I could hear my inner monologue saying ‘I want to go there with him! I want to go everywhere with him!’” It was on that very first date that God placed a desire to spend their lives together in each of them!

As we walked the lovely grounds of the Refuge we shared not only our love stories, but also our faith stories. Victoria and Drew have a solid foundation in Christ their Savior. It is He who has brought these two together. It is He who has filled them with such joy that you just can’t help but laugh and smile when you are around them!!

Engagement, Wedding, engagement ring, engagement session, couple, Mississippi, Starkville, Refuge

And it is He who painted the most beautiful sunset for our final set of images for the day…

I love every moment of my time with Victoria and Drew, who flew in from Charleston, SC for their engagement session with me! I am so thankful for the friendship that we have formed and I am more excited than ever to capture their wedding at the Chapel of Memories in Starkville, MS in May!

Mr and Mrs Jonathan Dear | A Classic Southern Wedding

Mississippi Wedding at the Vault Venue Brandon

The Vault Venue in Brandon, MS was the perfect location for Jonathan and Jesse’s classic southern wedding. As I began to gather Jesse’s dress, veil and details, I was in awe of the timeless classics she chose for her wedding day. The lace sleeves of her wedding gown and the headband of her mother’s veil reminded me of Grace Kelly’s chosen style when she married Prince Rainier in April of 1956. From the flowers and decorations, to the music, the entire day was a perfect blend of classic and contemporary.

What I loved even more than this couple’s timeless style is their hearts for Jesus. Jonathan and Jesse love well and are loved by so many who came to participate in their standing room only ceremony.  Their passion for Jesus was in every detail of the ceremony as they so beautifully displayed the Gospel message through serving their guests The Lord’s Supper. We were all invited to examine our hearts before receiving the elements as the pastor shared a message from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34.

I have loved getting to know Jonathan and Jesse through their initial consultation, engagement session and wedding day. Being able to not only capture all the sweet moments, but to also get to know their hearts so I can pray for them throughout the process has been such a joy.

Perfect Love: 1 Corinthians 13:8-13

Love never stops loving. It extends beyond the gift of prophecy, which eventually fades away. It is more enduring than tongues, which will one day fall silent. Love remains long after words of knowledge are forgotten. Our present knowledge and our prophecies are but partial, 10 but when love’s perfection arrives, the partial will fade away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke about childish matters, for I saw things like a child and reasoned like a child. But the day came when I matured, and I set aside my childish ways.

12 For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as though reflected in a mirror, but one day we will see face-to-face. My understanding is incomplete now, but one day I will understand everything, just as everything about me has been fully understood. 13 Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.
